When i started painting my cabinets i did not sand and i did not use primer.
All of which are white with a butcher block top.
What happened when i didn t sand.
And while i will definitely share a re cap of the event with you guys soon today i wanted to share a review of my milk painted kitchen cabinets and how they are holding up after one full year.
I wouldn t use general finishes milk paint along with the polyurethane.
Even though they have seen some wear and tear after a year and a half of use there is no yellowing.
While i did love the kitchen i had an itch to paint the cabinets white to coordinate with the island and the other two pieces in the kitchen.

Repair these first with wood glue before sanding the veneered surface.
If your cabinets have a wood veneer essentially a very thin layer of real hardwood over a pressed material you will also need to sand before painting your kitchen cabinets but before you break out the sandpaper or paint carefully inspect the veneer for loose edges chips or cracks.

Hi beth i am in the process of painting my kitchen cabinets with milk paint in snow white and i have awful brush marks also i am having a hard time getting the arches in the cabinet doors covered well without drios and brush marks.
